Thomas Wood has resided in Bellingham, Washington, since 1973. He credits working sojourns in Europe, the Queen Charlotte Islands, and the Netherlands with contributions to his stylistic evolution. In 1980 he served as apprentice to a master printmaker in the Academia delle Belle Arti in Florence, and he enjoys alternating between printmaking and painting. Wood has camped and boated in easter Washington throughout his life, and painted Near Soap Lake during a trip with fellow artist Joseph Goldberg.
